Across-fabric width runs from selvage side to selvage side; length runs with the fabric. A 12 × 20 remnant and an 8 × 20 remnant stay two bins, not one 20 × 20 area.
Presets are editable conveniences
Fat quarter, fat eighth, quarter-yard, and half-yard actions fill common dimensions. Measure what you own and edit immediately. QuiltClarity plans the edited rectangle, not the preset label.
Quantity creates physical instances
Quantity 2 means two separately identifiable pieces. Allocation results retain each instance so the cutting plan tells you which piece to use.
Safety applies only to purchases
If the entered stock fits every cut, Buy now remains zero even when purchase safety is 5%. Safety cannot add margin to material already owned.
