Direction changes which rotations are legal
A rectangle may physically fit after a quarter turn but place a one-way motif sideways. Mark directional fabric and restrict rotation when orientation matters.
WOF strips are a stronger constraint
A width-of-fabric strip must span the usable crosswise width. It cannot rotate into the lengthwise axis merely because the dimensions fit.
